If you didn’t register your property then there is no proof that you are the owner of the property and the person from which you bought the property still have right over the property.
The registration paper is proof that you are the owner of the property and if any person came for the rights of the property, then you can show these documents in court and prove that this property is under your name.

What are the documents that are required for registration?

After identity proof, another proof that is required is residential proof. In residential proof, you can give a copy of the adhar card but make sure that the address of the resident in which you are living right now should match the address in the adhar card.
Then, at last, you need to give some passport size photographs as photographs are used in many documents as proof. Also, the photos should be self-attested too.
